Another Card Using Buttons & Hemp Cord
Just thought I'd share another card I made using my Boofle buttons & hemp cord. The papers are from a gorgeous 6x6 pad from First Edition Papers, called New Leaf. These are great for male cards, but also have some lovely flowery papers too.

Father's Day Card - Buttons & Hemp Cord
This week I've been making cards using buttons and hemp cord.
When I popped into The Range this week, I couldn't resist buying some craft supplies. You may of seen the new Docrafts Boofle range that came out recently, which has some lovely papers and stamps. They also do a large bag of mixed buttons for £3. I thought this was very good value for money, as the buttons will last ages, and there were lots of colours and sizes to choose from.
The first card I made is a Father's Day card for my Father-in-law. The key stamp is from Papermania Urban stamps.
The second card was for a Birthday card for a friend of my daughter. Again I used some of the Boofle buttons and hemp cord.

Birthday Card with Butterfly & Twine
It's Monday morning and guess what! it's raining again. Oh! well at least we're getting long light days, which I find does help with my crafting.
Anyway my new favourite material is twine, which I've used in this pretty feminine card with butterflies and gems. There is so much choice with different colour twines, like Bakers Twine, and also hemp, available in many colours. Do you have any favourites?

My First Card Making Challenge
Hope everyone enjoyed the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations over the weekend. It was great to see so many people coming together, and joining in the fun.
I've noticed that many blogs run challenges - so here goes, this is my first card making submission to the Ribbon Girl challenge. There are some really lovely cards on the blog already.

Welcome!
Welcome to my blog and my first post. As it's the Diamond Jubilee weekend, I thought I'd add a photo of a card I made using some of the papers and embellishments from Papermania, Portobello Road and The London Line.
I love to try new techniques, and on this card I used Tim Holtz Perfect Pearls embossing powder, to make the stamped sentiment which says 'For You'.
I've never used any embossing powders before, so I thought I'd add a few tips below.
1. Ink up your stamp really well, using a clear embossing stamp pad - I used Ink It Up!, but Versamark is also a popular choice.
2. Stamp your sentiment/image onto the card stock.
3. Place the stamped card onto a piece of scrap paper, then using a spoon, sprinkle plenty of the Perfect Pearls powder onto the card. When the area is fully covered, shake the excess powder from the card, and you'll see the stamped sentiment magically appear. Take a soft brush, and brush away the rest of the excess powder. Leave to dry completely.
4. Tip left over powder back into the container, to use again.
